This work, titled "Temporary Shelter Centers as Resilient Measures Against Natural Disasters in the Municipality of Boane," aimed to propose the creation of such centers in Mozambique, focusing on the specific location. A qualitative and quantitative approach was used for its implementation. Data analysis and interpretation revealed that both natural and anthropogenic factors contribute to the existence of high-risk areas in the municipality of Boane. It was found that some points are particularly prone to frequent and severe flooding, mainly due to their location in topographically depressed areas and their proximity to natural drainage channels that tend to overflow during periods of heavy rainfall. It became clear that temporary shelter centers are fundamental to protecting lives, promoting recovery, and ensuring the resilience of the community in the village of Boane during and after natural disasters. It also became clear that the dual-purpose approach of the temporary shelter centers—serving both as shelters during flood emergencies and as classrooms and/or community centers in normal times—represents a smart and efficient strategy for the use of resources and infrastructure, offering significant benefits to the community.
