GENERAL INTRODUCTION
Abstract
Today, global environmental problems and geographic, socio-environmental, economic, cultural, geopolitical, oceanographic, biogeographic dynamics and areas related to climate change stand out as one of the most serious global challenges, on which the future of humanity dangerously depends. A single country can never solve this challenge. International cooperation and the exchange of experiences in scientific and practical knowledge, between different branches of knowledge, schools, institutions and researchers, are essential to achieve our ultimate goal, which is sustainable development. It is in this context that this journal, MOÇAMBIQUE GEODIVERSO – MOZGEO, emerges as a space for international scientific publication, converging experiences, knowledge and solutions for sustainable economic, social, cultural and environmental development.
MOZGEO is a Mozambican journal with international coverage of studies on physical, human, economic and social geography, and the environment in general, to understand human-earth relations and promote sustainable development. MOZGEO belongs to the Faculty of Earth and Environmental Sciences (FCTA), of the Pedagogical University of Maputo (UPM), and its mission is to disseminate scientific knowledge in the area of geographic, physical, human, social, geosciences and environmental sciences, of interdisciplinary interest and of national and foreign higher education institutions, national and international research. MOZGEO focuses on studies of the links and mechanisms between physical, human and sustainable development space.
MOZGEO aims to publish high-quality, cross-sectional original research from a wide range of geography and related areas such as biogeography, zoogeography, climatogeography, human and/or economic geography, environment, sustainability and computing and geosciences, and welcomes submissions that promote geotechnological innovation or use geotechnics and modeling methods to study various phenomena in physical, human and sustainable development space in the world and Mozambique in particular. It is an open access journal focused on advancing the understanding of the impact on human-environment relationships, of the elements and their interactions with physical and human spaces. By examining these connections and mechanisms, MOZGEO seeks to contribute to sustainable development and deepen our knowledge of the complex human-environment interaction.

The journal has an interdisciplinary focus, filling a gap in the impact of human-environment relations, of the elements and their interactions with physical and human spaces in Mozambique and from Mozambique to the World, offering a platform for interdisciplinary research collaborations and innovative insights. Seeks to achieve global visibility: Publishing in Information Geography offers global visibility to researchers, practitioners and policy makers focused on spatial and temporal dimensions, their interactions with physical and human spaces. As an open access journal, your article will be freely accessible to everyone and widely shared, with a university community for consumption of the material. The aim is to publish impactful research results with the potential to influence future research directions, inform policy decisions and drive advances in the field of Geography, environmental science, and related fields. MOZGEO is guided, above all, by a rigorous review under the leadership of Professor José Lourenco Neves, PhD from the University of Gothenburg, Sweden, Professor Bernardino José Bernardo, PhD from the University of Aveiro, Portugal, and Professor Sérgio Come, PhD from the Pedagogical University of Maputo, Mozambique.
